"James K Allan" on headboard.

This sequence - locals showing the MP the problems of heavy traffic thundering through their village to persuade him to ask for a bypass - reminded me of this - /vehicle_911179-Commer-N3-1936.html
Sunbar wrote Location Markyate High Street, (A5 truck road, Watling Street before the Markyate by-pass); about 7 miles north of St Albans and 4 miles from Dunstable.

Buildings similar but not identical, I think this film is based around St Albans - is this recognisable as Markyate or nearby on A5??

Looks like the Albion sunrise above the grille.

Chieftain?

I would agree 1958-62 Albion Chieftain CH3 from size and the filming date.

Not Markyate, too wide for that and not I think on either the A5 or A6 trunk roads in North Hertfordshire.

Pub on the left (The Plough?) has probably gone now or been renamed. A village school and a typical Hertordshire village church spire?

"James K Allan Newarthill Scotland, transport to all main centres of England and Wales"
