April 87 L with 2-tone and red bumper inserts. Looks like Oct 87 boot badge after Austin was dropped. |

Rather a Vanden Plas. Front bumper is not original - it's not two tone as it would be on a two tone car and the red inserts become chrome on the doors and rear bumper. There's far too much chrome for it to be a lowly L, plus the pinstrips and the blurry badge that's part of them point to a VDP. |

Did VdP ever have 2-tone?? Or a Mayfair?? |

From: http://www.vpoc.info/cars/austin-montego-vanden-plas Mayfair would have a Mayfair badge on the side. This has something smaller. The headlamp washer nozzles appear to have gone for a Burton with the front bumper replacement. -- Last edit: 2019-08-11 00:26:03 |
