@ rjluna2: once again, beware of autosource as it leads sometimes to perpetuation of errors...

This truck is "born" in 1942 as Freightliner Model 600, a.k.a. Shovelnose. It was even the very first truck of the all-new Freightliner company, which was known as Freightways until the summer of 1941. The production ended after a few months due to WWII, but was resumed in 1948.
From what I understand, it became the Freightliner B-42 in 1950 when the tractor version was unveiled. If I'm not mistaken, 42 means 4 wheels x 2 drive wheels.

Freightliner and White signed a commercial/marketing agreement in 1951, leading all Freightliner trucks to wear the White-Freightliner logo (until 1976). The Freightlier B-42 became then the White-Freightliner WF-42 (White-Freightliner 42) and WF-64 (6x4 WD, i.e. tandem model).
I'm not sure, but it seems to have been replaced in March 1953 by the first model of WFT (White-Freightliner Tilt Cab).

(1950 Freightliner ad / 1951-53 White-Freightliner ad)

So, as 4x2 tractor, the truck of this page is either a 1950 Freightliner B-42 or a 1951-53 White-Freightliner WF-42. Not a White-Freightliner B-42 :)

(I gave it the White-Freightliner identification, as the truck shown in this page is apparently the one of the -already linked- movie The Junkman)

It was me who identified it, not him. So I guess I made a mistake.

My mistake, then :)
And my apologies to you, rjluna2.

Anyway, "fresh air from outside" is often better to help identify some vehicles: we all know that (individual and collective) memory isn't that trustful, humans tending to forget quickly their history :D
