1969 Ford Mustang i think....fog lights make me think of a GT but the car looks too basic for being one |

Shelby GTs were only sold as Sportsroof/fastback or convertible cars, their (square) fog lights were under the grille and the whole front part was different... These "fog lights" are in fact two other head lamps, part of a dual system shared by all "non-Shelby" 1969 models, from standard model to Boss ones, including the Mach 1 and the Grandé. This one is just a standard/basic Coupe, claiming proudly Mustang on its side ![]() |

If I'm not mistaken, GTs of this "era" were only Shelby models ![]() |

Link to "mustangattitude.com" but you are right about a thing, GT got killed during 69 MY |

Same site, about the 1969 MY: The GT option ($147 base upgrade)... Ok, let's say there were "GTs" ![]() But it wasn't a specific model, unlike Grandé, Mach 1, E and Boss models, or like Shelby's GTs. It was just a trim package, if not just an option. If present, it should be given only as complement, but I'm not sure it would be really relevant (I know it has already be done for some identification of Mustangs)... Please say GT trim or GT package, next time, it will avoid misunderstanding ![]() ___ In fact, I don't tell all the truth: there was Shelbys with notchback/hardtop bodies, and there are (even 1970+) Mustang GT models. But all as "Shelby de Mexico" ![]() Like for the T5, the Mustang seems to have spread some foals all around the world... -- Last edit: 2015-03-08 17:56:47 |
