 809 code is MB’s code for 2009 model; 1989, 1999 2019 etc.

It is a pre-production/test model. We saw this with early SLKs built in late 1995 but they were labeled as 1997s.

 The 809 AEJ code (for Änderungsjahr/MY) differs for the languages you select, but from this code in English it would be the first change in 2006 (as for possibly a 2007, but actual production date is much later and would usually give a 2008), the M I don't recognice, the X AFAIK would refer to experimental/test vehicles
