At first I was really disappointed when they replaced the chevelle with this , but then I realized they used this so there wouldn't be any unnecessary wreckage of classic muscle cars which made me put a little faith back into the movie indusrty |

When the Charger is dropped from the pier the bottom is visible. There seems to be a lot of parts missing. Drive shaft, exhaust pipes and gearbox for example are gone. They salvaged parts before dropping it? Or do they remove parts to make the car balanced for a cinematically correct drop and roll? |

Both reasons are possible. Regardless of the crash, it does look great! A black on black Charger is always a bit evil and sinister. |

Yes they remove as much of the parts as they can for both reasons. A big part is because those pieces are valuable and the engine could possibly blow during a crash scene when the director doesn't want it too as well as safety. Most of the time the cars they crash are from junkyards which means those parts have been salvaged anyway. They buy it cheap cuz it's just the body and they just do exterior work to make it look like the moving counterpart. |

By the way, since it doesn't hace rear spoiler and seats are made in fabric I think it's a SXT, not a R/T or a SRT. What do you think? |

Wait, what happened to the Chevelle? It last appeared when John Wick was heading to the hotel |

The Chevelle was probably lent to John just so he could get to the Continental and one of the staff drove it back to Aurelio's after John checked in. |

I'm watching the film now and I noticed the missing parts off the Charger. It's standard to remove those items for safety reasons. |

Since the Chevelle appears again in the second film being driven by John, I guess he decided to wreck the Charger, which was his, instead of Aurelio's car, and that he kept it until he got the Mustang back. |

I did think that too, except it sounds as if it has a V8. Of course, that could be dubbed in afterwards. And the headlights weren’t xenons... |
