This is a Dennis RS - http://www.fire-engine-photos.com/picture/number22816.asp The RS and SS are very similar , but the SS has a tilt cab . The production dates mainly in 1980's seem to overlap . They did not like using SS for filming as the tilt cab had a panel at back dividing the crew cab, so they bought five RS off South Yorkshire Fire Service for filming and J957CYE is one of them. 'J957CYE' and 'J180YWN' appeared towards the end of Series 7 but may have been previous used props with new plates (both registrations are fake). I'd be interested to see if the real IDs of the various 'star' fire engines (other than the 'borrowed' from LFB ones used in earlier series which tended to wear genuine plates) could be unpacked.
