Plate is RTW 835D/935D - probably a factory combination. Not sure what the boot badge means on such an early Mk4 Zephyr - too soon for Deluxe. This is definitely film footage rather than archive - several extracts, including these 2 randy young people: My guess would be a gritty Northern drama (kitchen sink genre) where she gets pregnant after their fumblings on the grassy bank and lots of people shout at each other - anyone recognise it? |

Concerning the badge there're some alternatives (all of them looking the same from a distance): [Zodiac], but I belive that can be eliminated in this case. [Zephyr], which also, probably, can be eliminated. I believe that badge came later, but I'm far from certain http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Ford_Zephyr_3008E_tail.jpg . [Automatic] if equipped with an automatic box (optional extra). I can't find a picture of it on the internet, but I know it exist as I have a picture of it in a book. [Overdrive] if equipped with such (optional extra) http://www.simoncars.co.uk/ford/z4estate.html . -- Last edit: 2014-03-20 15:22:20 |

For such an early Mk4 Zephyr, I think you're right it's a gearbox badge. The only normal badge there at this stage was small and inconspicuous (especially on pale colours) V6 chrome script on Z6, but that was dropped sometime in 67 (maybe 68). Deluxe had rectangular badge there from Oct 67 launch. The [Zephyr] badge in your link was late - the car there has Sept 68 onwards F O R D boot letters, but badge may be even later. |
