 came here a little bit earlier than in US. my books are telling 1982 for the SJ410 and got the 1.3 and the Samurai name in 1984. if you look the wiki page of it https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Suzuki_Jimny#SJ413.2FSamurai it says that Costa Rica and Canada had it earlier than US too

Year of the movie is 1984, it can't be a model from the future. Stop trying to over-complicate things.
