If these are civilian cars mocked up as CHP units, they could be any year off the lot, including 1979 models. Case in point - the St. Regis cars used on T.J. Hooker had brocade seats. Definitely not police issue. There is a good chance that the following car may be an ex-prop from the show - it matches the main photo and the last thumbnail with exception to the lightbar, and it has a civilian cloth interior: Link to "www.2040-cars.com" -Kurt -- Last edit: 2015-02-20 00:14:33 |

I believe what Ford_Guy was trying to correct you about is that the California Highway Patrol did purchase a substantial number of 1979 model St. Regis' before they bought the 80 models. Also as cudak888 has correctly pointed out; even more importantly, these are just props. |

The CHP cars (the rest are LASO) were not props but actual Highway Patrol cars, in fact the TV show has been filmed on the parking lot of the CHP Southern Division Central LA area office at 777 West Washington Boulevard LA |
