This is the movie's version of the blue 1990 Chevrolet Caprice driven by the D.C. snipers. The car that the D.C. snipers drove was previously used as a former undercover police car in Bordentown, Burlington County, New Jersey. If you look closely, you can see a hole at the trunk lid area that is covered by duct tape. That hole was used as a firing port by the snipers so they could fire and remain hidden. Although it has a New Jersey license plate like the real-life equivalent did, the plate number is incorrect. The actual license plate number was NDA-21Z, whereas the movie's version is WVR-48W. A previous movie about the D.C. snipers from 2003 ("D.C. Sniper: 23 Days of Fear"), used the correct plate number. See below: ![]() Unfortunately, from the trailer footage, there appears to be a lot of anachronisms when it comes to the cars, probably due to a low budget. A lot of automobiles are seen driving around in the trailer that did not exist in October 2002 (such as a 2008-2010 Ford F-Series). Nonetheless, the film itself looks pretty decent. -- Last edit: 2013-05-22 17:06:10 |

I heard that this car was Chevrolet Caprice Classic. Is it true? |

![]() Here's a better view of the car: Link to "www.myfoxdc.com" I heard it was a former undercover law enforcement car. From what I've heard, law enforcement Caprices were not Classic trims. Since both the actual car and movie car don't have any trim badging on the trunk (boot) lid, it's hard to tell for sure. -- Last edit: 2013-07-08 11:09:34 |

Well, i've heard you can order police cars with special trim that usually isn't included, so that may be the case. |

Posted in order of appearance, in case different cars were used. Stock footage of the real car: Caprice Classic badges: Later the badges disappear and the rear license plate changes several times. There is no explanation given as to why these changes occur. And here the badges are back again, along with the older rear license plate. (The car in the main picture is the one badged as Caprice Classic) -- Last edit: 2013-09-22 15:13:37 |

I think this model is older than 1990. If you compare to the real life car, the headlights are the newer type on that one. |

So, the main car is 1986 Caprice Classic. But why they can't find 1987-1990 Caprice??? I think it isn't difficult. |

Curiously, the main picture doesn't have the thick trim at the rocker panel. Perhaps a junkyard special with "Caprice Classic" script at the rear bonnet ![]() |

I see the trim under the doors, if that is what you meant. |

They honestly couldnt find a clapped out 87-90 Caprice? To be frank, the 86 models are much rarer. |

Absolutely, I can't understand too why they can't find 1987-1990 model??? It will be more true. |

Yeah, but it is the thin trim that described the base Caprice meanwhile the thicker trim classified as Caprice Classic. 1986 Chevrolet Caprice: /vehicle_84932-Chevrolet-Caprice-1986.html 1986 Chevrolet Caprice Classic: /vehicle_119312-Chevrolet-Caprice-1986.html |

Interesting "junkyard trim" I didn't pay attention to rocker panel, so I immediately started to think that it is real Classic model. Also, I think that they used two cars-the second car which has no Classic letters on the trunk. |
