Looks European. Wartburg? |

Unlikely in the US. I thought about an MG Magnette, but it too seems not quite right. |

I'd take MG Magnette. |

Here's a Magmette from the web, looks close to me - http://static.ddmcdn.com/gif/1953-1958-mg-magnette-8.jpg |

The thing that irritates me is that there seems to be some kind of fuel filler cap on the near side. Anyway, if we're saying Magnette, it is a ZB by the large rear window. |

^I think it looks like some kind of antenna, maybe for an aftermarket radio |

Another possibility: was the Simca 8 Sport Coupé ever sold in the USA? Because I'm not 100% sure about ZB Magnette. -- Last edit: 2012-12-30 09:33:18 |

I agree, that's actually a much closer match the the Magnette. Magnette: http://www.mgexperience.net/pictures/18372.jpg Simca 8 Sport Coupe: http://www.guidedesdemarches.com/PHOTHEME/AUTOMOBI/T11047.jpg |

Magnette still looks like the best match I've seen, especially when you look at one with the larger rear window: http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7075/7293586214_2647e5d008_z.jpg The badges, trunklid handle, and license plate location all match, and it's even got that strip of brightwork along the fender line. The rear lights don't quite match, but that may have been a US market variation: Link to "4.bp.blogspot.com" |
