Can't remember when they switched from "Fleetwood Brougham" to simply "Brougham". |

^87, also this one has the red reflectors on the trunk making it a 87-89 model. I think it's a 1989 Brougham: /vehicle_333474-Cadillac-Brougham-1989.html -- Last edit: 2011-09-29 17:40:44 |

Well, we can eliminate '87 and '88 because both had eggcrate grilles. I believe the '89 had the grille nameplate mounted one level lower. It seems to have a center-mounted brake lamp (albeit non-functioning) and narrow bumper strips. I'm thinking 1986 myself. -- Last edit: 2011-09-29 17:49:01 |

^So someone added the red strips on the trunk lid, rather then swapping the grill? If you must call it a 86 please change it to Fleetwood Brougham as that was the name: Link to "www.autobooksbishko.com" |

It's not that I "must" call it an '86, it's just what I see from here based on the evidence to hand. Any further comments? |

Starting in 1987 when this model went from Fleetwood Brougham to simply Brougham there was a change to the bumper rub strips. From 1980 until 1986 the rub strips have a single white strip,it was a separate piece of rubber and over time it would shrink, effectively becoming shorter. Anyway in 1987 the rub strip was changed to feature a wider channel in the middle that was colored grey/white. This car has the old-style rub strip which along with the grill, lights etc. makes it likely a 1986. |

Thanks for that extra bit of ID info, Drujon. I knew those rub strips changed but could not recall at what year. |
