Might this be a Hindustan Ambassador?? |

It certainly could be, an early model (1957-63) with the Morris Oxford grille; but if this was filmed in ZA it's likely to be a Morris. BTW the thumbnails are of an early Austin A55 Mk.I - which AFAIK was never exported to India. -- Last edit: 2011-09-22 08:35:11 |

Does it bears India plates? |
◊ 2011-09-22 14:33 |
Apparently, but until recently Indian plates were mostly hand-painted and easy to fake. |

In this shot we can't tell if it's a good fake Indian plate or a bad fake Indian plate. |

Does anyone know which building was used for the hotel exteriors in Ep. 2.01 and 2.02? At the end of Ep. 2.02, Scott and Stonebridge have a conversation next to what appears to be a Boer War monument. You can see "1902" is part of the inscription. -- Last edit: 2012-02-11 23:04:42 |

Could this be related to Second Boer War? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Second_Anglo-Boer_War |

The Old City Hall in Cape Town was used as the exterior for the hotel: http://www.sa-venues.com/attractionswc/cape-town-city-hall.htm |

So Morris Cowley or Oxford pretending to be a Hindustan Ambassador. |
◊ 2011-09-26 08:53 |
Indeed. More likely an Oxford than a Cowley, I'd say; not many buyers went for the poverty-spec. |

1954 S2 for Oxford detail? |

Turns out it was the town hall in Durban, which looks very similar: Link to "www.thelocationguide.com" |
