If it's a Super Snipe, it's not Series III as the cowl at the front is not wide enough for the dual headlamps introduced in Series III. It's either a Series II or possibly a Hawk; is the model name script on the front passenger door long enough to read 'SuperSnipe'? |

OK, happy to go with Hawk - I'm not convinced now that door badge is long enough for 'SuperSnipe'. Also - while I still can't get the hang of separating the supposed changes in rear window depth on early Hawks or Super Snipes - I'm now more aware that we have a few black Hawks in London films and various COI documentaries with simple side trim and plainer hubcaps, so I suspect there was a government/official spec which appeared with both black and cream wheels. Unless there's objections, I'll keep this as Oct 60, so S2 on Hawk. |
