Is that a skyhawk on the door in the 1st thumbnail? |

Yes it is. Does that make this a Roadhawk? |

No. That's a 1977 SkyHawk "Free Spirit" edition (package WH2) one of 385 produced! |

Very nice find! I've been a H body Skyhawk fan for over 13 years now and a couple years ago learned that for 1977 Buick carried over the Free Spirit option from 1976. The 1976 Free Spirit Skyhawk decals were just like the Buick Pace car for 76 and almost stayed like that for 1977 until Buick removed the Vari - color decals on 10-13-76. The revised decal sets for 1977 could be in black or white. Up till today I only knew of one picture of the 1977 Free Spirit Skyhawk and it was taken at the New York Interantional Auto show in 1977 by Kevin Fallon. The car is white and has the decal set in black so I'm happy to see these pictures of a Blue Skyhawk with the decal set in white! ![]() According to a Buick report I have of the 385 Skyhawks for 1977 made with the Free Spirit option 124 had the white decals. Looking at these pictures the front of the car seems to have a different emblem on the nose? All I have ever seen is "BUICK" there but this looks different. If anyone has anymore information on the H body Skyhawks please contact me at brjackson77@gmail.com Thanks, Brian Jackson -- Last edit: 2011-10-30 19:17:44 |
