 A bit confused by this CLX RS description - was it a local name? Looks as if Ghia shield on front wing. Can't get an exact match against UK spec - we did not have a plain 3 door Ghia, but other posh versions with rear spoiler, headlamp washers and these alloys (eg Si) had foglights; RS2000 had other changes as well. Is it just a Ghia?

 A decade later, the first Google result for "ford escort clx rs" is this IMCDb entry. The only somewhat relevant results from a picture search are a swedish registered Escort (PYX 250) customized to look like an RS Cosworth, and a couple of Escort CLX fitted with a bodykit sold by Ford at the time, under the "RS" label.

Our entry doesn't seem to have the full RS body kit, just a hatch spoiler. IMHO not enough to make this a specific model.

 My Escort bible doesn't mention a CLX RS in any of a few sections where a reference would be likely. However there are a couple of matching picture and text references among European special editions, using those unusual polished 5-spoke alloys as distinctive feature.

F and NL got a Formula S pack in 1991, much as seen here except black bumpers. This was revived in May 93 with same name for F - other markets not mentioned - as a dealer fit upgrade package of spoiler, same alloys, body colour bumpers and mirrors, tall seats, but no fogs. Available across all LX and CLX range and body styles, and could be added to other editions such as Solar. Book pic of red example is otherwise exact match.

So a CLX with Swedish equivalent of added Formula S pack, whatever it was called there??
