 Why 1987? I'd say this one must be much older, since it's still got the wind-down last side window, which disappeared in 1972.

 The original design had the two parallel lengths of chrome trim as seen here, so its from 1968.

 I just picked up this car from Picture Vehicles Unlimited. Been in Universal Studios storage since 2009. Amazing how the car deteriorates just sitting in storage. Still runs though. Land yacht! And it's purple, not blue.

They were coachbuilt by Vanden Plas with very casual rust-proofing.

"This is a 1968 Daimler Limousine just returned from the USA & is the actual car featured in the 2010 Universal Studios Film " Cirque du Freak" The Vampires assistant. In which Desmond Tiny is chauffeured in the DS420 which appears to have purple neon lights underneath it. The car is painted Purple & black. This is as the car appeared in the movie with extra lights & license plates which read DES TINY ( making a reference to Desmond Tiny,s shortened name ) The plates have been replaced since the film in which these were surrounded by chain. In the film it appears to have no real chauffeur due to Mr Tinys magic powers. In its place there is a green -glowing Celtic -like Symbol still displayed on the glass partition. This car would make an excellent "Themed Hire Car" or publicity vehicle. It is in good working order with nice engine & gearbox although it requires a New shock absorber to be fitted to the rear suspension. The bodywork is generally very good but may require some repair in the boot floor area but not bad. Looks clean underneath & the interior is very tidy. Comes with a us title & duties paid (Nova) Not Motd at this stage. Check it out on Wikipedia & moving images on U-Tube. Please ask if you have any questions & view first if not sure."
