Is that 1989 model year? |

Listed as Ford Mustang Cobra GT 5.0 ![]() You can not have a Mustang that is a Cobra and a GT as they are both trim levels of the Mustang. This one is obviously a GT. Also there is no reason to list 5.0 along with the GT as there is no other engine option available in the GT. As for the year I can not tell if it has a Drivers side airbag or the smaller headrests... If it does that would make it a 1990 (I am pretty sure those wheels last used in 1990) -- Last edit: 2010-08-24 17:39:10 |

It has inscription "cobra" on the trunk. Also GT on the lower parts of the car. Why? |

The red 'Cobra' decal as well as the red pinstripes on the lower sideskirts are not original. They only made a Cobra in 1993 for this bodystyle and it was only available as a hatchback in 3 colors (red, teal, black) The front and rear bumpers, sideskirts, taillights, and wheels are all different on the Cobra and they all had a spoiler. |

This is an original car. This model and trim was sold in Canada. I have the exact same car and I live in Florida. Why Cobra and GT together...well, for some reason Ford kept that Cobra label on those GT models only in Canada. I think it was an strategy during the time when Cobra/Shelby had a legal issue with Ford in the U.S.in order to keep the name. lt was not until 1993 when they cleared the issue up and resumed Cobra production in the U.S.. This is a "Canadian Cobra" /Users/luisnatal/Desktop/cobra.jpg |
