Is that Plymouth Colt? |

For this generation, the Plymouth version was called Champ. I know you could get striping like that on the Plymouth Champ, but it might have been offered on the Dodge Colt too. |

The badge looks more like it says Colt rather than Champ. |

US-version of Mitsubishi Mirage. A favorite of mine.Sadly, almost extinct.I used to see them a lot.Its been at least 8 years since ive seen one in person in the US.Theres still a few out west, and a few in Texas, but most have long rusted away.I think the previous generation colts survived better than these. |

In Syria, I can still see some 2nd gen Mitsubishi Colt 5 door hatchbacks (no 3 door hatchbacks or 4 door sedans were imported) running on the streets. For example, here's a glimpse of one I caught by chance while I was driving on a highway near Damascus, a few summers ago. It's not unusual for people in Syria to keep cars that are 30-40 years old.![]() I know to some it's a boring boxy 80s Japanese car, but I am glad to still see them around. ![]() |

Same with the Philippines. Both these and the 70s Lancers have survived much better than they did here. If you go on Adpost or Ayos Dito you can still find a few.I even see a few Celeste's on there. Those were never very common in the US. Isnt Syria warm and dry? Thats usually the best climate for cars like that to survive. |

Colt Mirage is another name they went by. We just called them Colt here. They have a lot of humidity in the Philippines but people take very good care of their cars and keep them going longer,so they have ways of preventing rust.Still a lot of old Toyotas and VW Bugs, in addition to these. They make them last. |
