GB1 ... I suspect a fake plate

The vehicle GB1 is currently a 2009 Rolls Royce according to the DVLA.

In the episode its driven by Sir Gerald Bancroft (hence GB) so either they chose the character's name to match the car or used a false number plate, both are likely possibilities. The Avengers Rolls-Royce could have had the GB1 registration originally and it was transferred to later vehicles as they were replaced by the owner or owners.

edit: 'GB1' is (contrary to the DVLA data) shown here http://www.bowfieldhire.co.uk/rolls-royce-silver-wraith-1949.html Its on a 1949 Rolls Royce Silver Wraith owned by Bow Field Hire, a wedding and film/TV hire company from 1991.

I am assuming that these are also the same car, given the price of a Rolls-Royce and that this is the same series! In that case, this is a 1965 car, by the 'C' registration (the GB 1 plate was false).

I am assuming this could SJR477, belonging at that time to KINSGBURY MOTORS. This company, as we know was in contract with the producers of these series ( see SRH2971 Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow 1967 )

It appears to be a Standard Steel Saloon.
