92-02 but i am sure it can be narrowed down more than that |

It has older style hubcaps. |

why was the year removed? as I said this can be no older than 1992 |

Maybe because the year range is too large and due to the issue with the name. For example. if it's within the 1992-1998 year range, it's an Econoline. But if it's a 1999-2002, it's just an E-Series. Simply listing it as an E-Series is the most generic way of listing. |

oh okay but i am sure that it can be narrowed down more by someone who knows more than me. Like the emblem by the front marker light shouldn't that help us narrow down the year (and possibly model)? |

Well I do know a thing or two about Econolines/E-Series (although I still am unfamiliar with some things). I believe those wheels were only used on some of the earlier models, but I don't know when they were stopped from being used. As far as I can tell, there's no way to narrow down the year range. If the tailights were visible or the front grille, then I'd say yes. But unfortunately, there's not really anything to go on. |

The Hubcabs can be bought at wal*mart ( I had a set on my 01 Silverado that the po put on) but I am sure the emblem by the front corner light is a clue but I am just not sure when Ford started using it, I know my 1994 Econoline did not have one but my 1997 Econoline and both my 03 E350's do have one |

I believe that's the V8 badge. So I'd assume that a van would only have it if it came with the V8 engine. Here's an example: http://a.imagehost.org/view/0747/Monk_802-012A -- Last edit: 2009-08-25 22:43:39 |

^yes you are correct. The V8 badges only came on the vans equipped with a V8, likewise with the V10 badges. I was saying that the badge should help narrow down the year as my 94 (V8 equipped) Econoline didn't have the badge but my 97 did. After doing some research online (and your pic confirmed what I found) It appears that the V8 (and V10) badge did not appear on these vans until the 1997 facelift. It was in 1997 that the 4.6L and 5.4 L Triton V8s and the 6.8L Triton V10 were introduced. The vans equipped with these Triton engines received a Triton V8 (or Triton V10) badge on each front fender. So this van is no older than a 1997 (even though it has older looking hubcaps) |
