Looks like maybe an LTD Crown Victoria... any thoughts? |

I thought that too originally, but the pillars are wrong. |

The lip at the top of the door reminds me of a 1967/68 Chrysler Newport/ Windsor, comments? http://www.cars-on-line.com/29297.html -- Last edit: 2009-03-05 01:03:50 |

Yes, except for this is a taxi and would therefore be the Dodge/Plymouth version rather than Chrysler, so a Fury or Polara. |

Ok... now I see the problem with the pillars. I would agree with one of the Mopars then. |

Let's just say Plymouth Fury for lack of anything evidence that's it's not a Dodge |

Or maybe it should be moved to the movie comments instead. |

If this car is from the 1980's it can only be a Gran Fury. |

But we had already discussed that it was a late 1960's model. |

Are you sure it's not a Chevy Caprice? The C-pillar has the right shape for one, and they were about the most common taxis at the time. -- Last edit: 2009-06-24 19:42:54 |

Will these slivers of rear end help identify it?![]() ![]() |

Looks closest to a 65/66 Newport to me. |

I can see why one would guess 65-66 Chrysler, but based on the added pics from bh it is definitely not one. The rear door handle is in the wrong location. It would be integrated into the chrome beltline molding on a 65-66 Chrysler. 67-68 Chryslers didn't have this beltline molding, so those are out too. 1964 Oldsmobile and Mercury had similar chrome outline moldings, but I can't place the roofline or the wide chrome pieces at the corners of the rear fenders.... -- Last edit: 2016-12-14 21:28:57 |

^Good catch on the door handles, and with that in mind it's a 68 Dodge Polara. |

I agree. I forgot that some '68 Polaras also had that chrome outline molding too. The fender corners have the correct angled chrome piece, and the trunk lid has a narrow raised section in the middle. |
