1981-1982 Chevrolet C-20 Custom Deluxe Fleetside The independent front suspension (IFS) lower control arms are visible. Thus, no live front axle with offset differential, no front axle locking hubs, no front drive shaft and no two-speed New Process transfer case unit. The windshield glass and back glass appear to be brand new with brilliant clarity and no surface flaws (possibility replaced for filming). |

I thought that headlight assembly was not offered on lowly Custom Deluxe models? Or was it optional, or perhaps just a replacement in this case? |

To honest, I had forgotten about the headlamps. It may be a sparsely equipped Scottsdale. I haven’t seen trucks equipped with the Custom Deluxe trim package with dual headlamps. Everything else seemed to be offered as options on the base model trucks. Here is a Custom Deluxe (the Apple Red V-20 at the bottom being used by firefighters) that is highly optioned, and could be easily mistaken for a truck with the Scottsdale trim package. ![]() |

I also saw a 1980s Chevrolet C or K series that had a badge that read ''Daddy's Deluxe'' was that ever optional or just an add-on? |

Add-on, likely a custom job by the owner. |

The Custom Deluxe could be ordered with the Deluxe Front Appearance Package but most people didn't as they just wanted/needed a base truck without any additional goodies (and therefore expenses). Or the owner of the truck in your picture could have just swapped out the front as the truck looks immaculately restored. |

Also if you look at the first thumbnail capture (the one that shows the driver’s door open) the door panel has Scottsdale appointed door trim and bright surround trim for the door handle. |

There is another interior shot that shows that the truck also has an aftermarket (Kenwood?) radio. |

Yes, it is a Kenwood Radio. I own the truck since a couple of months (I bought it from a local seller who imports american cars not knowing the car was in that movie). I deinstalled it, cause it was not working properly. It is in fact a 1985 model (Scottsdale package). The front clip got changed to probably resemble the twin brother truck (that was also at the sellers place and in a horrible condition). The trim around the grille on the drivers side is acutally one for the passengers side - so it looks upside down. The engine/trans combo is a 350/400 (still carburated) and an aftermarket sliding roof was installed. It actually works, but the handle is fake - it´s got a knob hidden under the headliner. It needed a little work such as a new carb, a new cooler, some other things and the dash is cracked big time - since it´s a california truck that´s not unusual I guess. |

Add Doc as owner and update it to 1985. |

Four stars since this truck was used for a pretty long time, just a bit longer. |
