That's actually a 1999-2001 Chevy Trailblazer, which at that time was a luxury version of the regular Blazer. You can tell by the wheels and the badge on the door. GMC also made an upscale version of the Jimmy from 1998-2001 called the Envoy. |

Since at this time the model name was still Blazer (according to the VIN and paperwork) and TrailBlazer was just the trim shouldn't we list it that way even if it sounds redundant? The same thing goes for the Jimmy Envoys If I remember correctly the window sticker on these listed them as Chevrolet Blazer TrailBlazer -- Last edit: 2011-09-17 14:08:41 |

I'm all for it if that is they it is actually supposed to be. I'd rather have it correct... even if it does sound a little strange. |

@Baube. From Wikipedia: The GMT 325/330 series was a compact truck line including mid-size pickup trucks and SUVs. It debuted in 1981, though it was not given its GMT name until the late 1980s when the new GMT 400 was introduced. The GMT 325/330 was GM's compact truck and SUV line, designated by an S (RWD) or T (4WD/AWD). Pretty much. They had a unique two-tone leather interior and the gold accents on the wheels and badges. Wasn't anything really special other than that over an option loaded LT Blazer. |

Agreed. I found that out recently. I kind of forgot what the S-10 stood for. I still have no clue ![]() -- Last edit: 2019-08-08 01:28:11 |

like the 1st Envoy for the Jimmy ( except that they got a nose job ) still weird that they get that code and the regular ones get another.. i mean, same engine, frame, everything.. or do the regular ones get GMT 330 too ? ah.. car manufacturers, they love ( too ? ) much to complicate things.... unless it was to do some kind of transition to the upcoming TrailBlazer/Envoy that are mostly known .. Edit : maybe i should read the whole page before asking myself too much questions.. again.. ![]() -- Last edit: 2019-08-08 01:39:42 |

They need a mass change. Regular ones should be [GMT330] sorry if I wasn't clear on that part. [S-10] is not the correct chassis code. I have yet to post in the mass change section as I normally cycle through them at my leisure but if it is bothering anyone they can submit it to antp and it will be changed. However, where would we start using the code? 1988 like the trucks? |

i don't know.. S-10 Blazer from 1987 looks pretty much like a 1988 |
◊ 2019-08-08 03:16 |
Maybe just apply it to all the S-10 and normal Blazers? It was there from the start but just didn’t get the name until later on |

that could be a good idea another option could be using 325/330 before the 1991 facelift, then add GMT for the 1991-2005 or if we have one ( plate or VIN ) between 1988-1990, a little bit like we do for general codes vs specific when info is available but it could be adding to the mix-up instead of clarify it ( note to ourselves here, the Olds Bravada became a TrailBlazer/Envoy/Rainier/9-7X/Ascender ( did i forgot one ? good thing Pontiac, Saturn and Caddy didn't had one too ) copy for 2002 ) ![]() -- Last edit: 2019-08-08 03:27:59 |

According to Wikipedia (not the most reliable source, I know...), the S-10 Blazer/S-15 Jimmy has been on the [GMT330] platform since it's launch in 1982 but it didn't start using the code until 1988 to correspond with the newly launched [GMT400] full-size trucks. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GM_GMT_platform#GMT_325/330 |

That could work as well, but you make a point. The Bravada was on the same platform. The Buick Rainier, Isuzu Ascender and Saab 9-7x came out of that. The Envoy and TrailBlazer were just continuations of the previous gen. Well according to Wiki, the Rainier and 9-7x were the direct successors of the Bravada, not the Ascender. -- Last edit: 2019-08-08 03:34:32 |
