I'm no X1/9 expert, but this one has Bertone badge on pillar and the raised engine cover - is it a 1500 in the final non-Fiat version? |

You are right - 1500. Although Bertone lettering had also Fiats in this place. The mirror is from ca 1981. So the 1981 Fiat (1500) would be the oldest possiibility, if color or some other detail doesn't say more. |

I think this is the car they think of stealing, but reject it on the grounds that Italian cars rust too quickly. |
