Definitely Harley-Davidson although the front brake looks to be off a small Japanese bike. The engine looks to be a shovelhead and there appears to be no kickstarter so it is 1970 or later. |

I think this is a Sportster engine with a big twin gearbox. This was done back in the day as Harleys were quite rare in Australia, and very expensive. When a Sporty blew it's box it was a custom trick to basiclly saw off the unit gearbox and adapt another on as a non unit type. I have seen British and big twin bits used. The front brake is likely a small disc intended for use on a go kart, either Hurst or similar. (Hallcraft)? Note the small S.U. carb too, also quite common in the dark ages of the early 70's. |
