Yeah a good question but many crashes are hard to survive and characters still get out alive. Cobra 11 is not the only kind of TV show that tries to tell us you can survive those crashes. Anyway, if the truck touching your body doesnt kill you the g forces do. Just look at the car after the crash. Both right side tires are ripped off by the pure force of the crash. Door impacts are as good as fatal. Doors have almost no impact zone to reduce the power. Its like you put a bicycle in front of your body and then get run over by a truck.
