I think its a 1961, the model with the pod type taillights, comments? |

Mike, that sounds right. |

I think the steering wheel indicates this is not a Fury. I'll have to research my Hemmings magazines for more info. If you look above the last thumbnail there is a 1960 Plymouth. EDIT: I just noticed that 1960 Buick convertible in the main image: NICE! -- Last edit: 2008-03-04 04:43:16 |

I am checking to see if the following steering wheel was standard on all Fury models. http://www.aeclassic.com/1961_plymouth_fury_convertible/002dash.jpg -- Last edit: 2008-03-04 04:54:28 |

Was there a Belvedere convertible? |

I don't know, but the white one in the last thumb is a 1960 Fury hardtop coupe. PP2-H if V8 powered http://www.misterw.com/Plymouth/60PlyF207b.jpg Note on the Buick: could just be a tutone paint scheme or a real Electra 225 model 4867. EDIT: I didn't see the image of the tail to the white Plymouth. I forgot about the Belvedere hardtop coupe. -- Last edit: 2008-03-04 10:53:34 |

Firebird86, that one you posted has the upscale "square" steering wheel. I am checking if the Fury could have had a round wheel instead. |

I was going more by the dash heres a better pic The car in the movie may have had a steering wheel replaced, the square wheels aren't very easy to come acrossed for accurate restoration. -- Last edit: 2008-03-04 05:45:05 |

Probably not a lot of restoration of 2-yr-old cars (movie is 1963). Car nerd, you led the way with your question of production. There were no convertibles in the lower series. "RP 1/2-H Fury (118" wb) Weight Price Production convertible coupe 3,535 $2,967 6,948" So that means this is a RP2-H Fury Convertible (V8 standard) http://www.geocities.com/MotorCity/5961/pricprod.htm Here is a 1961 Fury with the same round steering wheel (3rd image on left margin): http://www.hemmings.com/hcc/stories/2006/06/01/hmn_feature3.html -- Last edit: 2008-03-04 10:54:45 |

If there is a page for the 1960 Buick, feel free to move any relevant comments. |
