Looks to be a circa 1950 Dodge. |

There are 2 different taxicabs here : the one on the large picture and on thumbnails 3,4,5 and 6 is a 1949 Dodge Meadowbrook 4-door sedan ( D-30) , the only body type in this series. It has the series script location under the front fender to door trim as on Dodges and the chromed taillight housings on top of the rear fenders of 1949. The other one on thumbnails 1,2 and 8 and may be also on the interior view is a 1950 Plymouth DeLuxe 4-door sedan( P-20).One can see here the series script unde the side trim ,and the flat taillight housing located at mid rear fender. |

The 2 cab theory is possible as Dodge scenes were filmed on real streets and Plymouth was shot on a studio back lot. |

The livery is correct for a taxi operated by Yellow Cab Company of Washington, DC. The phone number appears to have been altered slightly, or it changed some time during the next decade: /vehicle.php?id=236743 |
