Indeed it seems to be the first Gmünd-built Porsche 356, presented on the 8th of June 1948. It had a Volkswagen engine in front of the rear wheels (sort of Boxster ![]() |

You are right. Gmünd is in Austria, and the first Porsches were built there. There are signs that Porsche didn't use NEW VW engines but used ones for the very first cars... |
