KVX 757 is shown here as a 1939/46 Wolseley 14/60 Series III? http://www.users.dircon.co.uk/~sandy/wolseley/mainfrm.html Engine capacity is more in agreement with the 14/60 model. -- Last edit: 2007-02-14 13:18:00 |

Some confusion here: maybe I can help, as I've just bought this car! (Dec. 09). It is not really KVX or XVX 757, but the XVX plate was obviously going the rounds at the prop hire company, as the car Sunbar has pictured on gravel in 08 as XVX is NOT the same as the main pic, (taken outside the Spread Eagle at Midhurst, I think). The one on the gravel lacks the chrome wheel trims and twin front horns, and has a wider interior mirror. My car IS the one in Sunbar's 07 stills, and the accompanying interior shot confirms it's my car, with the broken handle for the rear screen blind, and the fraying trim round the windscreen hinge. Sunbar's details for XVX 757 seem wrong for the car pictured, as it was first reg in 1938, and a 14/60 is 1818ccs, not 1701. XVX must have been something else. The prop people confirmed that they have a load of old numberplates... Agree with Picky - what would a wartime Police car be doing with chrome wheel 'embellishers'?! I've taken them off the car now - I think they were '50s accessories, and it looks better without. I'd welcome more of its film history (ironically the wheel trims are probably a better guide to the car than any number plate here!), and how much it featured in Foyle's War: was it Foyle's actual car in the later series (he used a Series 2 14/56 in the first series)? Comments welcome! -- Last edit: 2009-12-30 02:08:09 |

I guess we can add Centurion as the owner, even if he no longer owns the car. |
