Modified Jeep CJ-7? |

I think it is a modified Mercedes G-Klasse -- Last edit: 2007-01-02 18:56:31 |

The DVD documentary says they are called "Mercedes-Benz AAV"… However they call this vehicle a modified Jeep. I forgot to list this one in Contributions… |

The "Mercedes-Benz AAV" was the yet-unnamed ML-Class they used in the film : /vehicle_3106-Mercedes-Benz-ML-320-W163-1997.html |

Oh ok, thank's... I just done a search on the "AAV" and saw that it was the Concept vehicle. So I guess these vehicles’ must be the modified Jeeps' they were talking about? |

The Jurassic Park Website says they are quote: "InGen Standard Safari Vehicles (modified Jeeps)" unquote: Used by the InGen hunters. I rewatched the movie and captured a interior image. The dash board looks like a older style Jeep dash board. I think it might be a extremely heavily modified Jeep CJ-Series or the same model of Jeep used in the first Jurassic Park film. |

Based on that dash, if it's a Jeep, it's a modifed Wrangler (the YJ chassis, as Neptune said, the model from the first movie). |

Why modify a Jeep?? these vehicles are origionaly made for off-road driving. I can understand that they smacked on a few protective bars, but why change the look. -- Last edit: 2007-01-09 15:52:20 |

good point. they didn't chage the look of the jeeps in the first movie. |
◊ 2007-03-27 03:19 |
Probably to make it look like InGen was using something a little more military-spec than a Wrangler. |

It’s Wrangler not Wranger… an "L" got lost somewhere along the way. |
◊ 2007-03-27 04:25 |
I wrangled up an L for ya, |

The jeep that Peter Stormare drives in this movie(the one with the front seat going out) looks like a modified Suzuki Jimny. Anybody else think so. |

i must watch closer the car to say i know alot about that suzukis, here we have alot. |
◊ 2007-07-28 13:12 |
Maybe a Jimny or most likely Vitara... |

If you read the Lost World book, the "Bad Guys" (Lewis Dodgson, geneticist at Biosyn - InGen's archrival -, and two colleagues) were in a modified Jeep that was about the size of a Land Rover Defender P.S. The books were better than the movies!!! -- Last edit: 2007-08-02 19:17:03 |

There are defidently more pictures of these jeeps, not just the one pictured, but other ones. |

the dash pic definatly is of a wrangler, either a cj or a yj. but it has different body. i think someone posted a link for different jeep bodies though. if i was in this movie, i would gone with a tj, but thats cause i have one in real life. |

But aren't jeep Wranglers and Defenders (assuming Michael Chrichton was picturing the 2-door Defender 90) almost the same size? |
◊ 2011-06-10 09:33 |
Because Jeep did not sponsor the movie, however mercedes did (hence why you can see the star logo). |

The one surviving model of this is in Universal Studios Japan in Osaka |

Guys, the dash, the suspension (leaf SUA), even the trans skid plate all scream Jeep Wrangler YJ (the first "Wrangler" after the CJ-series btw) at me... 99% sure. |

Ironically, a few months after shooting, it wouldn't have mattered. They would have been Daimler-Benz products. |

Most perhaps a modified CJ-7 or 91 YJ Renegade |
