This is a genuine 1912 Rambler and is on display at the National Automobile Museum in Reno, Nevada. The man behind the wheel is the former collection mechanic; the man sitting next to him is the former museum Sales Manager...and he's operating the pedals! The steering wheel was moved to the left of the car as all the dockside scenes were filmed BACKWARDS (in mirror image) so they would only have to build one side of the Titanic model in Mexico. The "shotgun" passenger is operating the pedals and the "driver" is steering the car; the wheel was moved to the left and connected to the steering gear with a bicycle chain. |
