This was my dad's actual "daily driver" and my brother and I were driven to elementary school ever day in it when I was a kid..This 1959 Chevy El Camino was used in the 1988 television series "The Wonder Years"..My dad was working as a landscaper and one of the houses my dad maintained in Pomona, California was owned by a man who worked in the television and movie industry..That guy dealt in cars (mostly old and vintage) and paid my dad for the use of that El Camino..It was only seen in the first two episodes and in the opening credits..In the show "The Wonder Years", The truck belonged to Brain Cooper (played by Bentley Mitchum) who died in Vietnam before completing the truck..It was shown on jack stands and blocks in the show but it really ran great and was not broken down like it was shown on TV..The rims were Corvette rally's with derby hubcaps on 60 series BF Goodrich low profile tires..It had a 4 barrel carburator on a stock 283 cubic inch with dual exhaust and a turbo 400 transmission..I have more personal pictures of this truck as proof -- Last edit: 2008-05-27 04:38:39 |

It should have 2 stars - it was introduced as "really great '59 El Camino" and was one of things making Brian "defying cool" ![]() ![]() |
