#28 Robert Yates Racing Texaco Havoline car, driven by Davey Allison, sadly died in helicopter accident in 1993. |

This isn't the right paint scheme. In 1990, Davey Allison drove with the Black Texaco/Havoline paint scheme. |

Filming for this movie actually started in 1989. The film crew did a rather lousy job of being consistent with the paint schemes in each race. |

If you watch this film it has so many errors it ain't funny. I like the one shot where a Bud sponsored car changes from a Monte Carlo (not used in 1990) to a Thunderbird in the middle of a turn during the race!! I lived in Charlotte and worked in NASCAR while this film was made. They told everyone how authentic the film was going to be so they would help for free....not many happy folks after the film came out.....JUNK! |

They even used footage from the 1990 Daytona 500. In the last race you could see footage of Derrike Cope and Dale Earnhardt on turn 3 or 4 of the track. They used that in place of Russ Wheeler and Cole Trickle. |

^ This one's another proper 1990 livery, Mark Martin's #6 Folgers T-Bird for Roush Racing. In 1989, Stroh's Light beer was the sponsor, switching to Folgers for the 1990 season. |

I only posted cos it played a small role trying to catalog all those NASCAR would be a monumental task IMO -- Last edit: 2013-04-29 21:25:05 |
