Mikadoj ◊ 2008-06-25 20:20	1973 Pontiac Luxury Lemans "Torpedo "A" body" My Dad bought one of these cars new in 1973, it's the car I learned to drive on some 8 years later, just before Dad traded it in on a new VW Rabbit.( The Luxury LeMans got about 8mpg city and 12 hw, it was expensive to own ) The car was fairly peppy with a light body and 350CI V8. The car was designed by Bill Mitchell as an homage to the original 1940 Torpedo "A" bodied Pontiac of 1940 (note the pointed fenders which resemble old style seperate fenders).....also designed by Mitchell, near the beginning of his career at GM.
