This one is actually a 1995-1996 model, not a 1994. |

It is infact a 9C1, a Caprice NOT an Impala SS -- Last edit: 2008-12-10 12:00:33 |

Could you offer up some evidence to show it is a 9C1 because everything about this car indicates that it is an Impala SS. |

to me (who has little idea about US cars) it looks like an Impala SS |

Sure the back seats are wrong, theres a hole in the a pillar for the spot light Seats aren't straight up in the back like they are in the movie. I have a wx3 which is the true impala ss and this one is not. BTW not to mention the single exhaust outlet. Black leather inserts aswell. This car was made to look like an ss. -- Last edit: 2008-12-12 02:22:20 |

Well the seats look to be replacements or perhaps aftermarket since the Impala SS had different seats altogether. Also, I see no spotlight holes in the A pillar (the B pillar is the one that separates the front and the back doors). Also, I think you're showing me a picture of a Caprice Classic. |

that might be but the hole is on the A pillar and has been verified by a member on the impala ss forums as well. |

![]() Front seats are way different aswell. Look at the narrow rear axle, door panels aswell. more and more i watch this is see fawls. I just watched the movie u can clearly see it on the a pillar inside. Right when they are chasing Williamson after the dog park Reggie waves the gun and the camera pans to ice cub u can see it clearly. Fixed the seats, those are from a true 100 percent wx3. I will watch to movie again and u can see a hole in the a pillar. |

I haven't seen the movie before so I wouldn't know for sure. I'm not saying that you're wrong, but from the outside it looks like the real deal. Does anyone else have an opinion on this? -- Last edit: 2008-12-12 00:38:31 |

well axle doesnt matter its the same for caprice and impala 94-96 this is a caprice though. 93 caprice axle got wider thats why they look longer and lower in rear |

There is the holes for the spot lights like most retired caprices would have.![]() Seats which dont match impala SS's which i posted a picture before. ![]() |

I agree that this car is a 9c1 retired police cruiser done up to portray an Impala SS. 93-96 B-bodies do not all have the same rear axle, either. 1991-92 Caprices had a narrower rear axle housing that tucked the rear wheels inward a little. In 1993 the civilian Caprices got a wider rear axle that popped them out more to the side with the new radiused rear wheel arches. In 1994 the Impala SS came out, and that car also used a wider rear axle housing that sported rear disc brakes too. But, the 9c1 police package cars still used a narrower rear end to facilitate the use of tire snow chains. The car in the picture noticeably uses the narrower Caprice rear axle housing because the wheels are tucked in. That coupled with the hole from the spotlight, the slightly higher ride height than an SS, incorrect seats, etc., kind of tell the story on what the car actually is. |

Not an Impala, 95 or 96 Caprice 9C1 (Impala clone) |
◊ 2020-08-03 19:46 |
It isn't a 93. It clearly has a 94 to 96 dashboard. |

But it has the 1995-1996 C-pillar & mirrors... ![]() ![]() Here's a YouTube video if you need more clues: (sorry if the quality is only 480p) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BoSaFINOxz8 However, I'm wondering if they use stunt doubles for the car, I don't know for right now... ![]() -- Last edit: 2024-08-28 05:26:13 |
