Left to right: Dodge WC51 (1942) GMC M135 (1951) GMC M135 (1951) International Harvester M9 Halftrack (1943) The next two are possibly White Halftracks with multiple gun mounts. In the background possibly a GMC CCKW. |

The halftrack is great but the far left Dodge is not a WC 51 but the later M37 (actually M37B1 w/ the spare mounted by the door). |

did they have these still, in 1980, or was this just a gag for the movie? |

Maybe the army wouldn't co-operate with the producers, so they had to rent historic vehicles from collectors. That often happens with films needing military hardware. |

Yes, these trucks were loans by a military vehicle-collector's club. You can read a thank to the club in the end of the title. Just watch this movie until the last end. |

Yes on loan from private collectors. I know one of the guys that provided a half track, he specializes in tanks but has plenty of other vehicles as well. |

yes, because I dont think that the Us army had the single white star for their symbol, in 1980 |

The M9 they pan across in the the movie, when the soldiers and climbing out of the back, has now been restored and is in private collection in north east Ohio |

The highlighted vehicle is an M16A1 MGMC with the enlarged gunshield, not an M9. |
