Yes, VW 1302 Cabriolet. Produced 1970-72, modelyears 1971-72. This is a 72 model with more ventilation slits on the lid. |

It seems like three cars were used for this movie Changes I noticed: The top changes between black and white from scene to scene Sometimes the car has whitewall tires, other times not Chrome trim in front of rear fender The VW driven into the water was a "fake convertible," probably a junker beetle made to float. It has air intake vents under the convertible top but convertibles did not have air vents there -- only on the engine lid. This car has pre-1968-69 engine lid with no vents (but the same QPC license plate.) |

Old comment, but still: - 1970-71 (1500, 1302) had 28 slots (7-7-7-7) - 1972+ (1302, 1303) had 26 slots (7-6-6-7) like the sedans with vents |
