I don't think this generation Charger was ever sold with a Daytona model. Besides, As this car has quad headlamps, it's an '84 or newer, and by '84, Dodge was also selling a separate car called the Daytona (based on the K-car chassis).

May you prove your case sir because this looks like one of the late 70's Ford Mustang. (1979 to be exact.)

This is not a Mustang. It's a Mopar product. It's like Hecubus said, an '84 Dodge Charger. It was based on the Dodge Omni.

And the Mustang didn't have a grille like on this car. It also had the black ribs on the C-pillar.

It's an 84 Charger 2.2 car. Base model from the looks of it. I have a '84 Shelby and it has a totally different look and with the 2.2 turbo it will hang with most stock V8's.

This body style of Dodge Charger ranges from 1984 - 1987..
When they have the quad headlights, that means its commonly equipped with a 2.2 carburated engine.
Based on a 1978 - 1990 span of the Dodge Omni/Plymouth Horizon vehicles..

Just to confuse things further, the Plymouth version was also called "Duster" at one point. A neighbor of mine has a really clean silver one.

OMG, another incredible example for US-car-company-manner to pull down a great name into the stinkiest dirt. :/

THIS is a Charger: /vehicle_2075-Dodge-Charger-R-T-1968.html

Ogottogott (= German duplication of OMG), a Charger based of this junk-car Simca Horizon. I thought indeed, Chrysler was destroying itself since over 30 years (yes, Max, the impudent 600-badge is one evidence, too :p ), but this fact was new for me.

For those of you who agree with Firebird86, please refer to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shelby_GLHS and http://www.jaylenosgarage.com/your_garage/cars/6764.shtml I own number 75 out of the 1000, and I brag about it every chance I get.

I had one. One of the most amazing cars I've ever owned. Pretty quick, handled well and could haul all my DJ equipment in the hatch. I miss it. Make fun all you want, but that was a great car for what it was...which was basic cheap transportation. BTW ingo, the US Omni/Horizons was a bit different from the French Simca. We had better engines. Throughout its life, they had Mitsubishi, VW and US sourced engines. Didn't the Simca share a Peugeot engine?

I don't know, perhaps. @DynaMike: do you know details?

Anyways, it's not unusual to share engines, even not over brands. Some examples:

DAF: Renault
Volvo Diesel: VW LT Transporter
Ford Granada Diesel: Peugeot
Opel 2.4 liter Diesel: BMW
Opel 2.0 liter Diesel: Isuzu

The "Europa V6" was used in the Peugeot 604, the Renault 30 and the Volvo 264.

Many more examples can be found...

The Simca Horizon had engines of 1118, 1294 or 1442 cc, and these were no Peugeot engines, just old Simca-stuff. Peugeot had (in this range) 1124, 1290 and 1472 cc.

I read all the comments above. Why was this a Turismo and not a Charger?
