It is a GM TDH4509 (1949-53).

According to the Ohio Museum of Transportation this bus was delivered to the New York City Omnibus Corp in December 1949 in a batch of 50 busses of this type. Bus No.2930 therefore has the Serial-No. 0672.
Other details:
Transit / 6-71 Diesel Engine / Hydraulic Transmission / 45 passenger / Model 09 / Length = 35 foot / Width = 96 inch

.... :D

Yes, the internet is a fine thing to obtain all sorts of information.

# 2930 was leased by the movie company from Fifth Avenue Coach Lines (2930's original flag - New York City Omnibus Corporation - had already been changed to FACL due to a reorganization of the company.

The exterior was completely refurbished for the shoot at the production company's expense.

What's that silver round tray for? Cigarette butts? Has "DSNY" on it, which is/was New York Department of Sanitation.

Or a spittoon for bus passengers as they get on/off?? And has the man on the left got a wooden leg or just trapped his trousers in his sock?

Yeah DSL, his right leg looks significantly different than his left. Good question. Did people spit on the ground more back then, that a spittoon was necessary?
