Kelly Garrett drove an 8H Tan, Mustang II Ghia with the Sport Group in later episodes but early in the series and in stock footage (and above), the car appears to just be a regular Ghia, painted Cream Yellow; a 1976 color, and just optioned similarly to what would become the Sport Group. In addition to the color being wrong for the Sport Group, the luggage rack above was also missing the Sport's straps and buckles. HunterMan ◊ 2013-10-25 07:32	I think at least 2 Mustang II's were used as Kelly's car in the series, if not more. They started out with 1976 models of the Mustangs, and 1977 models for Sabrina's Pinto and Bosley's Thunderbird. Later they updated the Cobra to a 1977 model, and I'm sure they did Kelly's too. Whether 1978 models were ever used, I'm not sure...but I don't think so. Kelly's Mustang always looked some shade of "yellow" to me, no matter which model year it was, but maybe one was more of a tan color. Thanks for the info, Julian!

Yeah, the main pic above, as well as ahight's thumbnail pic, is of the 1976 Mustang II Ghia that Kelley first drove, with the amber lenses. Later, they updated hers at least to a 1977 model...if not eventually a '78 as well. They all kind of looked a "yellow" of some kind to me...but I guess some later ones were a certain "tan" color. I hadn't really noticed the presence or absence of the amber lenses on the indicator lights before...I'll have to look for that sometime too. Cool info...thanks! DJGuy ◊ 2022-04-20 19:50	My first car was a 78 Mustang II color code 83 which I believe is a Chamois (tan/yellowish color). I remember the color code because I scraped the side pulling out of our carport and got a little tube of paint from the dealership to repaint the spot. Girliest looking car possibly of all time but it had a removable sunroof you could store in the trunk in a supplied case. Plus I had saved up since 7th grade and paid $3100 cash for it in 1982 when i was a junior in high school. I had wheels and that's all that mattered at the time. Didn't realize it was the same car that Kelly Garrett (Jaclyn Smith) drove in Charlie's Angels until seeing a rerun. I got t-boned by a guy in 84 who had been shot in the stomach by his gf and was on the way to the hospital. He ran a red light as I was going through the intersection and totaled my cute little car. My gf at the time had a cool Mustang Cobra with the Cobra design on the hood. It was a bad ass compared to mine for sure! So as much as people dog this Mustang model it will always have a special place in my heart for being my first. -- Last edit: 2022-04-20 19:55:37
