1958 Wartburg 1000 is a nonsense...either 1958, but then still Wartburg 900, or Wartburg 1000, but only 1962+ |

I'd imagine the car didn't come with factory two-tone point either. West Germany, maybe but not East Germany. |

You'd be surprised. East Germany suspended official exports of cars to the BRD in 1969 as they were simply not selling at all. According to one West German tester, the little Wartburg could have almost reached up to the likes of Glas 1700 and BMW Neue Klasse, if it weren't for the horrendous stench and noise of the single-liter engine.
