We've identified this vehicle using the details you provided ROVER RANGE ROVER 1971 Registration number: NPX 42J Body type: Estate Colour: Red Date of first registration: May 1971 It came up at a 2017 auction, where the blurb strangely described it as 1974 "This model was delivered new to the Goodwood Estate in October 1974 and is presented in red with beige interior" - probably just a typo. Blue YVB 153H in the thumb is a famous and significant car: "YVB 153H is chassis number 00003A and was the very first car completed to ‘production specification’ (chassis 00001A and 00002A were both removed from the assembly line to allow it through first, as the publicity department were desperate for a Tuscan Blue car). It was completed on the 22nd of December 1969. These pre-production cars were registered with a batch of 28 numbers secured from Croydon licensing authority to disguise their origin, and were registered as “Velar 100 inch station wagons” with the numbers YVB 151H through to YVB 177H (176 was not used) from 2nd of January 1970 through to 1st of May 1970 respectively." from here. I guess these Rangies are included because Monteverdi pioneered the first 4-door conversion before Solihull took up the idea. -- Last edit: 2022-05-10 20:01:45 |
