6cwt Van, with 1958+ treble lights (when front got crisper Pennant-style wings and hooded headlights) or early 62 upgrade to 7cwt Van with 1147cc. Hubcaps were only listed as options on both versions. |

As you can see there is a hump so the load carrying area is about six inches higher than the cab roof, like a Morris Minor van. Also the camera angle may exaggerate the height of the van. One of my Aunts, not a petite woman by any standards, and also about 5ft 9 tall, had a Standard 8 and seemed to have no trouble getting in and out of it. The car only ever seemed to travel from her home to two destinations, church and the hairdresser! |
