Just been in the books, 10/30, if it’s an Alvis, but not sure. |

There is a blue/black "1924 ROVER 8 TWO SEATER WITH DICKEY", NR 3921, which gets several recent hits when googling and seems based in east England (eg seen at Beamish in 2019, currently for sale in Cambridgeshire. Colour match looks good, plus some details (wheels, box on running board, horn on scuttle). But other things don't match - position of headlights, not sure about hood. And particularly difficult, it doesn't look like a ducktail (eg 2005 pre-resto auction listing and other glimpses, but none show rear properly). So Rover 8 idea looks plausible, but unsure if NR 3921 unless it's continually being changed around. The current Cambs sales ad says probably only nine current survivors. |

After fiddling with the contrast on this iPad, I still am not convinced, I can’t see the air scoops for the Rover Eight’s air cooled horizontal twin, maybe the Nine's a contender. http://www.ipernity.com/doc/305711/21710519 -- Last edit: 2020-10-08 15:22:54 |
