330 LM plate is big clue - leads to Jim Jaeger's 250 GTO/330 LM, chassis 3765LM - http://www.hemmings.com/blog/article/gtoh-no-1962-ferrari-gto/ , Link to "www.motorauthority.com"

"... not totally original, is this one, owned by James Jaeger of Cincinnati. We say “not totally” because the 4.0-litre V-12 is a “bitsa” , and not the one that was installed in the car when it was first assembled. But the fact that it was an original 4.0-litre GTO with the 163 engine block makes it one of two initial factory prototypes, and the only GTO to race under direct factory ownership and preparation. Bearing chassis number 3765, Jaeger’s car is the first of two 4.0-litre GTOs and the only one built in 1962. The very first GTO, with 3.0-litres was unveiled at Maranello on February 24, 1962, but the 4.0-litre car came not long thereafter.

While it shared its body and 94.4-inch-wheelbase chassis with the 3.0 GTO, this prototype used the 4.0 V-12 adapted from the SOHC 1960 Ferrari 400 Superamerica, with 340hp in road form. It also received a four-speed transmission and 16-inch wheels. The same 4.0-litre engine powered the Ferrari 330 LM that scored the overall win at Le Mans in 1962, a SEFAC Ferrari SpA entry in the hands of Hill and Gendebien. Jaeger’s GTO was another SEFAC SpA entry for Lorenzo Bandini and Mike Parkes, although Parkes stuffed the car into the Mulsanne sandbanks early on, and it was withdrawn after seven hours with overheating from the radiator damage. It also finished second at the Nürburgring 1,000km in 1962 and was later sold for road use. The other 4.0 GTO was completed in 1963 with RHD and was owned by English Ferrari importer Col. Ronnie Hoare before being sold.

Jaeger’s car was sold off after Le Mans, then had its original engine pulled at the Ferrari factory in 1963, replaced by a 3.0- V-12 from the 250 P prototype 0796, and a GTO five-speed manual transmission installed.

Didn't reach $60m in the end but did become the most expensive Ferrari ever sold at auction - $51,705,000 (c£42m) with RM Sotheby’s 13 November 2023 in New York.
