doesn't it read AEC on lower grille of Ergo-cab ? So could be 1966 AEC Mercury than? https://farm7.staticflickr.com/6012/5991576595_49c7b5d2a6_b.jpg https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/c/cf/1966_AEC_Mercury.jpg |

As it's a tractor unit, either a Mercury TGM4 or a Mandator TG4. I don't know how, or even if the two can be distinguished. |

the key to identify is the filming location beeing Northern Ireland >>> Commercial Road Vehicles(CRV)Ltd. of Dundalk Northern Ireland assembled 1965 Mandator 691, Type TG4R by position of AEC letters in lower grille like this 1964 exhibition model. Most prominent the forward position of mirrors is a tribute to irish weather conditions. https://ccmv.aecsouthall.co.uk/p439443226/h54f03de0#h54f03de0 https://www.flickr.com/photos/35455701@N03/8585488131 https://farm6.static.flickr.com/5572/14692408097_e04f0d89bc_b.jpg https://hiveminer.com/Tags/ergomatic%2Cmandator there is evidence CRV assembled only the heavier Mandator as we can't find any Mercury / Monarch assembled by them, and that might be the reason they omitted a Mandator script to save money. Or there has been no initial prod tractor unit of Mercury. |

Interesting info, andrepa. I was unaware of this assembly of vehicles in N.I. It led me to this CRV assembled AEC Mandator and the full description in the web page, including this... "Commercial Road Vehicles (CRV) Ltd. of Dundalk assembled AEC TG4R Mandator ......Other customers for these short wheelbase Mandators were Greenore Ferry Services and Cantrell and Cochrane Ltd. CRV also supplied 8' wheelbase TGM4R Mercury tractor units to Irish Glass Bottling Co. and to the Dock Milling Co." |

Interesting info, Sunbar. So i have learned CRV assembled TGM4R Mercury 471/505 tractor units, too. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/362362810587?rmvSB=true Link to "www.ebay.ie" would be nice, to determine history of SWB 'Fisher' truck with heavy 40' trailer probably made by CRV here a similar Mandator tipper https://www.trucksplanet.com/photo/aec/mandator_tg4/mandator_tg4_9717.jpg https://ccmv.aecsouthall.co.uk/p439443226/h23365cf7#h23365cf7 https://www.trucksplanet.com/ru/catalog/model.php?id=725 here tons of Mandators with typical 40' trailer http://www.thegoodolddays.veryold.net/aec_mandator.htm |
