Isn't there some sort of kit car, maybe an Auburn, that Luthor drives at the end of the film when Superman apprehends him?

There's also an early '50s Ford F-1 shown right after Luthor escapes from the chain gang. It looks really similar to the one from "Forrest Gump".

Filmed in the UK and the USA.

Quote The vast majority of the external scenes in this film such as the U.N. building in Metropolis were filmed in and around the new town of Milton Keynes, Bucks, England. This was due to the Cannon producers Menahem Golan, Yoram Globus refusing to budget a shoot in New York City.

The subway scene was filmed on the London Underground, using the Holborn-Aldwych branch of the Piccadilly Line.

I remember there was an early Fox body Mustang coupe in this film

I also remember towards the end of the film we see a late 1970s Chevrolet Caprice driving by just before Superman takes Lex back to prison

Several vehicles n the deleted scene where Superman fights and defeats the first Nuclear Man; two Pontiacs, a blue woody sedan, an orange Japanese sedan, a orange hatchback, a white car that's black above where the windows start, and a Ford box truck that Superman goes flying through.

Sadly, it's the best quality version of that scene on Youtube to my knowledge.

Added some more cars from the deleted Prototype Nuclear Man scene though this time I found a version in better condition.

This is one Extended cut from the movie.
You can see a 68 Ford Galaie in the background at 0:30. I find a Bloggerpost where the write point out that the Galaxie in the background, is in fact the Original Timelord Galaxie.

I've heard the KLF's Ford Galaxie (called the Timelord by them!) was used in the filming of one of the Superman films.

After filming it was sold to a Fintan Chalk who turned it into a Bluesmobile replica, before selling it to Jimmy Cauty.
